Rime Ice, a 3-year-old gray or roan filly, made it two wins in a row with a tally in a six furlong allowance at Arlington. She broke her maiden coming from off the pace three weeks ago at Hawthorne . Showing her versatility, this time Rime Ice broke right on top and had the lead at every call, winning by two lengths in a lively 1:10 1/5. She now sports a record of 2-0-2 in six starts, with earnings of $41,140. She is owned by Majel and Alton Ison and trained by Joel Berndt.

The other Value Plus winner came in a maiden race at Penn National, where the 3-year-old colt Celeritas Plus took a 1 mile and 70 yard contest by one length. Sent off the 9-5 favorite, the bay was never more than two lengths off the lead in third place, made a three-wide move into the stretch to win.

The colt sold at the 2008 Fasig-Tipton Kentucky summer yearling sale for $110,000. He is a half-brother to the $108K earner Spirit Warrior. Their dam Private Funds is a half-sister to the stakes winner s Cheiron and Deadline.

Value Plus currently ranks in the top 15 on the 2010 North American second-crop sire list. His leading earner on the year is the top 3-year-old filly All Due Respect, runner-up in the Grade 1 Santa Anita Oaks.
