After posting a second and a third in his first two starts, Mountain A. P. broke his maiden in a laugher on Nov. 29 in his third try, racing 5 1/2 furlongs on the main track in 1:06.35. The 2-year-old Kentucky-bred colt by A. P. Warrior shot to the lead, then continued to increase his margin, eventually stretching it to 9 1/2 lengths at the wire.
