After breaking her maiden by three lengths at Turfway Park on Dec. 3, A. P. Diva came back to finish third in the $50,000 Gowell Stakes at the same track on Dec. 26. The 2-year-old daughter of A. P Warrior stalked the early pace in the six-furlong race, went after the lead three wide turning into the stretch, opened up a 1 1/2-length lead in mid-stretch but finished third after being bumped by the eventual second-place finisher in the final sixteenth. The check for $4,650 boosted the filly's earnings to $22,050 after just four starts.
