Mysticism toughed out a neck victory in seven furlong maiden race at Gulfstream Park on March 24. The 3-year-old son of A.P. Warrior was pressure on the lead the entire trip, but fought off three separate challenges to get the win in his second lifetime start.
Mysticism earned $25,440 for the victory. He is trained by Tom Albertrani for Darley Stable. Mysticism was bred in Kentucky by Super Fine Farm and sold for $115,000 at the 2009 Fasig-Tipton Kentucky July summer yearling sale. He has two siblings who are also winners and is out of Wild Catseye, who won the New Jersey Futurity at age two.
The 8-year-old A.P. Warrior stands at Stonewall Ocala for $6,000, LFS&N. He was one of only two 2010 freshman Florida sires with a stakes winner in their first crop. He is also one of four Stonewall sires, along with Da Stoops, It's No Joke, and Strong Contender, to rank in the top 10 among second-crop Florida sires.
