Despite incurring a layoff of nearly seven months, All Due Respect returned to the races at Aqueduct on Nov. 25 and finished a respectable second behind Lovely Lil in the Gr. II Go for Wand Handicap. The 4-year-old filly by Value Plus hadn't competed since her third-place finish behind Blind Luck in the Gr. II La Troienne at Churchill Downs on May 6.
With Junior Alvarado aboard, All Due Respect was knocked around at the break, then stalked the solid pace set by the winner (:23.04, :45.96, 1:10.41), only falling short at the wire by 1 1/4 lengths. The filly was in obvious need of the race, which went in 1:36.90. All Due Respect has finished in the top three in eight of her last nine outings and sports an overall record of 4-5-4 in 16 starts. The $30,000 runner-up check increased her total to $364,470.
