All Due Respect, the leading earner of 2010 for her sire Value Plus, continued her cross-country tour with a good third in the $100,000 Railbird (G3) at Hollywood Park on May 9. The 3-year-old filly was making her fifth consecutive start over a different racetrack.
The seven-furlong Railbird was also a switch from the two-turn races All Due Respect had been competing in. All Due Respect broke without urgency, settling in sixth place in the nine-horse field. She maintained that spot while four-wide on the turn and was still fifth with a furlong to go, but kicked in late under Rafael Bejarano to close for the show spot, less than three lengths off the winner. She earned a lifetime best 92 Beyer Speed Figure.
All Due Respect has race at seven tracks in her eight career starts. She was originally trained by Ronnie Werner. Though she didn't break her maiden until her fifth start, she placed in both the NATC Futurity S. and the Pocahontas (G3) prior to that. She was purchased privately by Al And Saundra Kirkwood and turned over to southern California-based trainer Kathy Walsh following first win in late January. In her first race for Walsh, she was beaten just a neck in the Grade 1 Santa Anita Oaks. The June 6 Hollywood Oaks (G2) could be up next for All Due Respect.
All Due Respect has now earned $162,032 in eight starts, with only two off-the-board finishes. Her sire currently ranks 12th on this year's North American second-crop sire list and has been represented by three winners in just the past week.
