Andrew's Girl, owned by Marc Haisfield, made her caeer debut in a maiden special at a mile on the grass at Tampa Bay Downs on Feb. 18 and won at first asking under leading rider Leandro Goncalves.

The 3-year-old filly by Lawyer Ron, sent off at 22-1, was off last in the 10-horse field and remained there for the first half-mile. Goncalves found a hole on the inside as the field entered the stretch, and Andrew's Girl slipped through and outsprinted her rivals to the wire, scoring by 1 1/4 lengths. The Kentucky-bred filly was clocked in 1:38.76 and collected a check for $10,200.
