Stonewall Farm Ocala stallion Da Stoops was represented strongly with his first 2-year-old to sell at public auction when a striking colt from his first crop fetched $125,000 at the OBS February Select Sale with top buyer Buzz Chace signing the ticket as agent for the powerful racing stable of West Point Thoroughbreds.
Selling as Hip No. 140, the bay colt was consigned by Ciaran Dunne’s Wavertree Stables as agent. He hails from the Nureyev mare Jathibiyah, a stakes producer, and was bred in Florida.
The colt made a good appearance during the sale’s Under Tack Show last Friday, breezing an easy furlong in 10.3 seconds before galloping out strongly.
Da Stoops, a brilliantly-fast son of leading sire Distorted Humor, was a four-time stakes winner and earner of $640,906. He stands 2010 at Stonewall Farm Ocala for a fee of $3,500.
