Doneraile Court High On General Sires List
RSS Feeds Thursday, May 29, 2008
Stonewall Farm Stallions' Doneraile Court continues to excel among Northern Hemisphere sires with progeny earnings of $2,446,838 through May 29, good for 14th place on the general sires list.

This, despite the fact that his $6,000 stud fee is exceeded by every other stallion in the top 25. In fact, seven stallions in the top 25 command stud fees of $100,000 or more.

Doneraile Court has 52 winners thus far in 2008, with three stakes-winners that have combined to win six stakes. His biggest money-winner is the 4-year-old Chilean filly Cocoa Beach, already a two-time champion who has banked $506,000 in 2008.  He is also led by top-class stakes performers Ariege, multiple graded stakes winner including the Santa Anita Oaks (G1), and Sporting Art, a graded winner and top 3-year-old turf runner in North America.

Doneraile Court exits a marvelous 2007 season where he was the leading sire of 2-year-old winners, and the Seattle Slew stallion has hovered in the Top 10 on the general sires list for much of the early part of 2008 and is currently only about $10,000 from being close to the Top 10 again.
