American Warrior broke his maiden at Turf Paradise in his fourth career start on Jan. 23 after a torrid head-and-head battle to the top of the stretch. The 3-year-old gelding by A. P. Warrior sprinted away from the field down the lane in the 5 1/2-furlong race and was in cruise control at the wire, three lengths in front. The even-money favorite was clocked in 1:05.22.
