The 2-year-old son of Burning Roma fought pacesetter Prayer Meeting for the lead three wide in the early going, edged to the front after three-quarters and drew off to win by 8 1/2 lengths over favored A Cat That Flies in 1: 36.79.

Florida-bred Fear the Heat has compiled a record of 2-3-0 in six starts since breaking his maiden in his debut at Calder on Sept. 10, and with his latest check of $22,700, his earnings jumped to $57,118.
