Cruising Girl prevailed by three-quarters of length in a race at Tagliacozzo, Italy, on July 18th to become the first winner for Stonewall Farm Stallions freshman sire Unforgettable Max.

The Kentucky-bred gray or roan filly, trained by Riccardo Menichetti for owner Razza dell’Olmo, covered the about 1,300-meter (about 6.46-furlongs) race in 1:31.50 on a track rated as fast.

Bred by Kathryn Poole, Cruising Girl is out of stakes-placed winner Dominique’s Lass, by The Minstrel. She is a half-sister to Italian stakes-placed winner Golden Blushing.
Unforgettable Max, a full-brother to champion and dual classic winner Afleet Alex, is a nine-year-old by Northern Afleet out of the Hawkster mare Maggy Hawk. He stood in 2009 for $4,000. The bay horse has 48 two-year-olds in his first crop.

Unforgettable Max posted five wins, four runner-up, and one third-place finish from 23 career starts and earned $384,079. Winner of the 2004 Shecky Greene S. at Delaware Park, he placed in four graded stakes, including second-place finishes in the 2003 Discovery Handicap (G3) and ’04 General George (G2) and Salvator Mile (G3) Handicaps as well as a third-place finish in the Tom Fool Handicap (G2).
