Great Attack, the son of Greatness purchased by EQB as a 2-year-old at an Ocala Breeders Sale, made it into the entries for the $1 million Breeders' Cup Turf Sprint to be run at Churchill Downs on Nov. 5.
Jeff Seder and Patti Miller, the EQB partners, nicknamed Great Attack "the horse nobody wanted" after his purchase for $37,000, and opted to race him themselves. In his career, the colt has compiled a record of 4-3-2 in 12 starts with earnings of $173,918. He has been stakes-placed three times, including a third-place finish in the Gr. III Shakertown Stakes at Keeneland.
Trained by Wesley Ward, Great Attack recently returned to the races after being treated for tender feet and Seder says he is in top form now and they expect a big effort. Earlier this year, Great Attack defeated last year's winner of the race, Chamberlain Bridge, who is also in the field this time around.
