Despite being bumped by the winner on the turn, Immortal Eyes finished a game second behind Ravalo in the $200,000 Six Bits Handicap at Penn National on Nov. 23. Immortal Eyes was moving between horses under Travis Dunkelberger coming into the stretch when Ravalo moved over from the three path and forced the son of Greatness to steady. They continued together to the wire, with Ravalo prevailing by a neck in 1:10.38 for the six furlongs.
Immortal Eyes collected $40,000 for his gallant try, and increased his earnings to $465,422 on a record of 9-8-3 in 28 starts. In 2011 alone, the 6-year-old gelding bred in Florida by Adena Springs is 5-3-0 in nine starts with earnings of $269,215. He's been first or second in eight straight starts, the last seven in stakes company.
