Leroy's Dynameaux engaged Saratoga Boot in a long stretch battle and was outnodded at the wire in the $75,000 Cotton Fitzsimmons Mile Handicap at Turf Paradise on Jan. 14. It was the fourth stakes-placed finish for the 5-year-old gelded son of Leroidesanimaux, winner of the Gr. III Will Rogers Handicap in 2010.

Leroy's Dynameaux was 10th and last going down the backstretch in the one-mile race on the turf, went six wide on the turn to get on even terms with Saratoga Boot, and had to settle for second by a nose when the photo sign came down. The Louisiana-bred collected $15,000 for the runner-up finish and is 3-3-4 in 18 career starts with total earnings of $223,752. The mile went in 1:34.87 after they sped past the 7 furlongs in a 1:22.36.
