A colt by Stonewall Farm Stallions’ Medaglia d'Oro brought the fourth-highest price of any juvenile to sell at the first session of the Keeneland April Two-year-old Sale on April 8, with the hammer dropping at $450,000 for the gorgeous bay.
Maverick Racing signed the ticket for the colt, which sold as Hip No. 77. He is out of the Thunder Gulch mare Viaduct, a half-sister to champion Phone Chatter. Mike Mulligan’s Leprechaun Racing was the consignor of the colt from the first crop of Medaglia d’Oro, who stands at Stonewall for a fee of $40,000 stands and nurses.
Medaglia d’Oro has enjoyed several top-priced purchases from his first crop, including a $900,000 sale-topping filly at Fasig-Tipton Calder in February.
