Graham Motion had Animal Kingdom on the track under tack this morning at the trainer's Fair Hill base for the first time since the colt began rehab, Blood-Horse.com reported. Animal Kingdom, the Kentucky Derby winner and Preakness runner-up, has been out of action since he was discovered to have a slab fracture following his mystifying sixth-place effort in the Belmont Stakes on June 11. Motion said that the son of Leroidesanimaux jogged for about 10 minutes and looked "really well." He added that the colt is a little overweight, but couldn't be happier with the way he's doing. There is no timetable yet for when Animal Kingdom will make his return to the races.
