Surprise Value was not your typical first-time starter. The 2-year-old daughter of Value Plus tried to make her debut July 6th at Philadelphia Park but the race was ruled a ‘No Contest’ following a rare gate malfunction. So in her official debut July 24th, the gray filly scored a flashy four-length win in a $39,000 maiden special weight heat at Penn National.
Out of the Stalwart mare Timbia, Surprise Value gave Value Plus his sixth winner and moved him right outside the Top 5 on the Freshman Sire’s List heading into August.
