La Reine Lionne, who hadn't started since winning her last at Saratoga on Aug. 20, made it two in a row with a one-length victory in a $32,600 starter allowance at Gulfstream Park on Dec. 16. The 4-year-old Kentucky-bred filly by Leroidesanimaux covered 1 1/16 miles on the grass in a sharp 1:41.46 under Julien Leparoux, and paid $2.80 as the 2/5 favorite.
La Reine Lionne, third-place finisher in the Gr. III Violet Stakes at Monmouth Park earlier this season, earned $18,600 for her sixth victory in 12 starts and raised her total to $144,092.
