After posting a pair of seconds and four thirds in her first seven starts, Lyle's Angel broke her maiden in a 6 1/2-furlong test at Parx Racing on Dec. 17. The 3-year-old daughter of Value Plus stalked the early pace in the maiden special event, then shot to the lead while three wide entering the stretch and drew off to score by 1 1/4 lengths over 8/5 favorite Lightshaft. The Kentucky-bred filly collected $27,000 for the victory and increased her total to $53,744.
