Spellbinder picked up his third winner from his first crop when Lotta Zalotta scored a four-length victory in a $24,000 maiden special weights race in her career debut at Delta Downs on Jan. 11. The 3-year-old filly drew off on the turn in the five-furlong race, opened up a two-length lead in mid-stretch and coasted to the wire in :59.09, well clear of 3/5 favorite George's Prayer. The Texas-bred filly, only the fifth starter for Spellbinder, earned a check for $14,208.
