Guanabara Gal stalked the leaders in fourth place for three-quarters of a mile, then ran them down in the final furlong to capture a $30,000 allowance race over the Remington Park grass course. The 3-year-old daughter of Leroidesanimuax was up by a head at the wire after a tough stretch battle in the one-mile race. The Kentucky-bred filly was the 5/2 favorite in a field of 10, and the $17,745 winner's share boosted her earnings to $50,682.
