Striver came from far back in a six-furlong race at Hawthorne on Dec. 17, went five wide into the stretch and was two lengths the best at the wire despite his 16-1 odds. The 3-year-old Kentucky-bred gelding by Value Plus was clocked in 1:12.43, picking up his second victory and a check of $7,500 for his owners.
