Silver Craft, a 2-year-old colt from the first crop of Value Plus, became his sire’s latest impressive winner, as on Nov. 15th the speedy gray colt romped by 6 ¼ lengths in a $46,000 maiden special weight race under the Twin Spires of Churchill Downs.
Trained by Anthony Reinstedler, Silver Craft took up a good stalking position in the seven-furlong contest before taking control on the far turn with a strong three-wide bid. He streaked clear in the stretch to be all alone in the wire over eight rivals. The final time was 1:24.72 over a fast track.
Out of the Crafty Prospector mare Crafty Casa, Silver Craft boosted his record to 1-2-0 from four starts with earnings of $42,055 for owner and breeder Charles Galli, who bred the colt in Kentucky.
Value Plus has 13 winners to date with progeny earnings of $403,148.
