Three-year-old Star Value romped home an 8 3/4-length winner in a 5 1/2-furlong maiden race at Calder on May 14. The gray or roan son of Value Plus ran to his 4-5 odds, leading from when the gates sprang open. He increased the margin at every point of call to win with ease.
Star Value is a half-brother to the stakes winner One Man to Beat. Their dam Global Star won $154,830 in her career.
Value Plus is currently a top-15 second crop sire. His leading earner on the year is All Due Respect, who ran second in the Santa Anita Oaks (G1) and third in the Railbird S. (G3).
