The 3-year-old filly A Good Run, by Value Plus, registered her second stakes placing of 2010 with a good third-place effort at Charles Town Races on Oct. 16. The filly was previously second in the Rachel's Turn S. Aug. 27 at the West Virginia track.
A Good Run didn't get the best of trips in the $75,000 WV Triple Crown Nutrition Breeders' Classic. She was caught in the middle of a three-way duel all the way until deep stretch, hanging on gamely to get the show spot.
The gray/roan filly has hit the board in five of seven starts on the year. She was bred in West Virginia by Sorbettor Associates, in whose name she also races.
Value Plus is a top 15 second-crop sire. He is represented by six stakes horses in 2010, led by the multiple graded stakes-placed filly All Due Respect.
