All Due Respect, an ultra-talented filly from the first crop of Value Plus, dominated in a $44,000 allowance race at Hollywood Park on Sunday, streaking clear in the stretch to a 10 1/4-length romp after setting the early pace in the 1 1/16-mile race. The final time over the local synthetic track was a crisp 1:42.55, earning the dark bay filly a very fast 104 Beyer Speed Figure.
Trained by Kathy Walsh, All Due Respect flashed her ability early as a 2-year-old, finishing second in the $180,000 NATC Futurity before checking in a game third in the Grade 3 Pocohontas at Churchill Downs as a maiden. In her first start at three, All Due Respect broke her maiden by 7 ¼ lengths and was privately acquired by Walsh for owners Al and Saundra Kirkwood.
In her first start for her new owners in California, All Due Respect was beaten only a neck when second in the Grade 1 Santa Anita Oaks – a race in which she finished ahead of eventual Kentucky Oaks winner Blind Luck. Last month, she was third in the seven-furlong Railbird (G3) at Hollywood before her landslide victory Sunday.
Bred in Florida by Lau-Mor Farms, All Due Respect now has a record of 2-3-2 from nine starts with earnings of $188,432 for her owners. Out of the Devil His Due mare Aunt Due, she was a $80,000 2-year-old purchase last year at OBS.
